Currency and Tariffs

Though Kathryn now works exclusively in Canada, as most of her collectors are international, purchases are processed by the site in US dollars. You can use the dropdown menu on the right to select your home currency.

Update September 2026 for American collectors:

Under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, duty has not been charged on original artwork (HS Code 9701) for items crossing the Canada/US border, however new tariffs put in place on Canadian goods by the Trump administration may result in tariffs up to 50%. All tariffs are the responsibility of the buyer, in addition to the purchasing cost. Please contact us directly before purchasing and we will try to find out the current tariff situation.

For other countries, check your country’s policies on importing artwork, as VAT or other taxes may apply.

Shipping Locations and Cost

Shipping is free for all destinations in Canada and the US, and $20+ for all other countries. Send us a message if you’re not sure if we can ship to your country. All original items are are shipped from British Columbia via Canada Post, and may take several weeks to arrive.

Print orders to US destinations are filled and shipped by our two local printing companies in California.  It's important to us to support local small business, and we think you'll love the extra care these companies take.  

Shipping Methods and Speed

Please check your shipping address carefully. If you don't receive postal mail in your area, please let us know in advance of shipping since the default option is mail.  International orders are always shipped by mail to avoid brokerage fees.

Please be aware that shipping may take several weeks to arrive at your destination. Thank you for supporting our small business and bearing with any delays. We will do our best to send every shipment as quickly as possible, however with customs etc there may be delays outside of our control. If you need your item by a certain date, please let us know asap by responding to your order email with more info when you place the order.

Packaging and Frames

Paintings are packaged carefully in kraft paper, ribbon and cushioning materials, and stamped with Kathryn’s custom stamp.  We include a small card with painting care instructions.  In our commitment to reduce waste in our small business, some orders will be shipped in clean incoming packaging from Kathryn’s art supply orders.

By default, all paintings are sold unframed, but ready to hang. The edges are finished to match and hanging hardware is attached, so you can hang your painting unframed for a clean, professional look.

If you prefer the look of a frame, we offer framing options for some smaller sizes. Contact us if you want to inquire about adding a frame for an additional fee.

Returns and Warranty

We want you to be completely happy with your new art. You can return any finished artwork or print for a full refund for any reason within 14 days. If you have concerns about an existing piece after the 14 days, contact us and we’ll figure out a solution. You can read the detailed warranty information for purchased artwork here. Each shipment will include a care information card to help you ensure that your art lasts as long as possible.

Copyrights and Image Use

Kathryn retains copyright of all her images after sales of the originals, and images must be used with permission.

Licensing is available for some images. To inquire about licensing an image for your project, please contact Kathryn’s image licensing agency.
