GlovesI prefer black nitrile gloves to protect my hands from the paint and resin, and keep oils from my hands off my paintings. Reuse them as often as possible.

Window FanThis inexpensive hack was inspired by the fume hood in my old lab. I set it up to blow outward from the window, and seal around it with duct tape. When switched on, it removes any resin smell from my work area.

DysonI use my Dyson around the studio for general cleanup, but the soft dusting attachment can be used on paintings to remove stray tiny scraps of metal leaf. Gather and reuse as much of the leaf scraps as you can first.

Sawhorse

For large paintings that don’t fit in my washing machine drain pans, I use these folding sawhorses, which can be stores under my couch when not in use. I put two 2x4s across them, clamped in place, and cover the boards with silicone mats where the paintings touch to avoid sticking. Underneath, I put a PVC shower curtain, which can be reused after you peel off the acrylic drips.
