About This Piece
This medium round wood box is made using sustainable mango wood, measuring approximately 4.75" round by 3.5" high. This solid wood box has been stamped on the back with the artist's custom brand.
The lid is decorated with cross sections of real pencil crayons (coloured pencils for those outside Canada!) and set in food safe resin. The resin surface has been honed to a satin finish that resists glare and scratches, and covers a swivel lid with a magnetic closure. There are two carved compartments inside, suitable for storing different types of salt, spices or vanity items. The lid is snug but not fully airtight. The box ships with a ribbon, care instruction card and a bottle of conditioning oil.
Cleaning instructions: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Condition the wood by wiping with mineral oil and a soft cloth. Not recommended for storing liquids, immersion in water, or prolonged outdoor use.

Why is it in the Garage Sale?
From Kathryn:
I tried a heart design, and it looked great before I added the resin, but the pencil crayons were slightly different thicknesses which resulted in the heart looking lopsided, and I wasn’t feeling it so I didn’t try the design again. It’s still beautiful and functional.
