About This Piece
This is a found object mosaic on the surface of an acacia wood box, including shells, tile, pebbles and recycled glass. It has black grout and a flowing design. The inside of the box has been weighted with a mortar and pebble bottom.
This acacia box measures 14.75”x 4.375” x 3.75” and has five compartments inside, which can hold tea bags, vanity items, essential oils, keepsakes or jewelry. This is the Medium size tea box. Read about the box sizes and compare photos here. The box ships with a ribbon, care instruction card and a bottle of conditioning oil.
Care instructions:
Do not immerse in water. Wipe clean with water and mild soap when needed, and condition the wood with food safe oil.

Why is it in the Garage Sale?
From Kathryn:
It’s a beautiful box, but I learned the hard way that a heavy mosaic lid will tip the box over when it opens! This was my first time experimenting with a new method to keep the box from tipping over - the inside is lined with a layer of mortar and small pebbles. I’m going to experiment more with this technique since I really like it.
