Found Pottery Pendants by Carla - 7
About this Series
Our family’s early pandemic project was cleaning up a local creek, while Kathryn taught the kids every biology fact she could remember fromforestry school. Things We Found In The Creek began as an Instagram story series about the odd pieces of trash we pulled from the creek bed, but it turned into a larger reflection on all the strange and beautiful things we found in this little urban wild space.
After our move to British Columbia, we have continued the tradition of picking up trash and making art out of the found pottery and glass, tumbled by the ocean.
About This Piece
Kathryn’s family is full of women artists, and this collaboration piece was made by Carla, a Canadian silversmith in Kathryn’s family.
While Kathryn’s other Repurpose jewelry pieces are mounted on premade bezels, these pottery pendants are fully handmade in real silver, with backs customized to the shape of each found piece.
This blue and white piece of pottery is set in 925 sterling silver, and comes with an 18” box chain and black gift box. See photo with the quarter for scale.
