About This Mosaic

This is a handmade mosaic of a humpback whale in blue and white tones, made from tumbled pieces of broken dishes and reclaimed tile. The edges have been painted to match in a dark blue. There are many interesting details in the dishes to look at up close.

This piece measures 15”x30” and is made on a cradled birch panel with edges painted to match, suitable for indoor only. The mosaic is finished with blue/black mosaic grout. The mosaic weighs approximately 8 lbs and needs to be attached safely to your wall by a professional.

This mosaic ships unframed, ready to hang. This is an original piece of art made with repurposed and found items, so there may be flaws within and marks on the back; check pictures carefully and message us if you have any questions.

About this Species

Humpback Whale

Humpback whales are baleen whales that feed on plankton. They migrate huge distances every year, from the warm tropical waters where they breed and nurse their calves, to the cold, nutrient rich waters of BC and Alaska where they feed. Male humpback whales sing complex songs to females during breeding season.
