Green Octopus Mosaic 15"x30"
About This Mosaic
This is a handmade mosaic of an octopus in green, gold and violet tones, made from tumbled pieces of broken tile, dishes and pieces of shell, as well as iridescent vitreous glass mosaic tile. The edges have been painted to match in a dark green. The gold halo of the octopus is made with a broken gold plate. The suckers of the octopus are individually cut and shaped from ceramic tile on Kathryn’s wet saw and angle grinder.
This piece measures 15”x30” and is made on a cradled birch panel with edges painted to match, suitable for indoor only. The mosaic is finished with dark green/black mosaic grout. The mosaic weighs approximately 8 lbs and needs to be attached safely to your wall by a professional.
This mosaic ships unframed, ready to hang. This is an original piece of art made with repurposed and found items, so there may be flaws within and marks on the back; check pictures carefully and message us if you have any questions.

About this Species
Giant Pacific Octopus
The Giant Pacific Octopus is adapted to survive in cold, oxygen rich water. These intelligent creatures have amazing camouflage abilities, and the females care intensively for their eggs. The octopus feeds on fish, crabs, shrimp and other marine invertebrates.
Octopus are threatened by climate change and ocean warming, since their copper-based blood does not carry oxygen efficiently, and they are sensitive to changes in oxygenation in the water.
