Green Octopus Outdoor Mosaic 18"x36"
About This Mosaic
This is a handmade mosaic of an octopus with a gold halo of sunlight, incorporating reclaimed tile, broken dishes, pieces of shell and vitreous glass mosaic tile. The edges have been stained to match in a distressed medium brown outdoor finish, but can be painted a different colour if you prefer.
This piece measures 18”x36” and is built with mortar on a sturdy plywood panel with framed edges, so it could be hung outdoors in a protected area. The mosaic is finished with black mosaic grout, and sealed throughout to protect it from moisture. The mosaic weighs approximately 18 lbs and needs to be attached safely to your wall by a professional. This mosaic is constructed for indoor or outdoor display, although all art is safest indoors.
This mosaic ships unframed, ready to hang. The wood on the side has been branded by Kathryn’s custom aspen leaf stamp. This is an original piece of art made with repurposed and found items, so there may be flaws within and marks on the back; check pictures carefully and message us if you have any questions.

About this Species
Giant Pacific Octopus
The Giant Pacific Octopus is adapted to survive in cold, oxygen rich water. These intelligent creatures have amazing camouflage abilities, and the females care intensively for their eggs. The octopus feeds on fish, crabs, shrimp and other marine invertebrates.
Octopus are threatened by climate change and ocean warming, since their copper-based blood does not carry oxygen efficiently, and they are sensitive to changes in oxygenation in the water.
