About this Series

The Hope series was the final series made in Kathryn’s Kite Studio in 2020, before her move to British Columbia. Poured all in one week, these abstract landscapes are a snapshot of that time of upheaval and growth. This series is made only with paint pours, with no embellishments, metal or resin. They’re natural and spontaneous, and feature bright, hopeful colors. Read the full story behind the Hope series here.

About this Piece

This original painting is made with an acrylic paint pour on cradled birch panel. It has been finished with a protective gloss varnish. This series features cosmetic cracks, bubbles and texture in the poured paint, which adds to the organic feel of these originals. The lack of a resin toplayer makes for a more matte finish than Kathryn’s other work, which showcases these tiny imperfections rather than hiding them.

This one of a kind original measures 24" x 24" on cradled birch wood, with 1.5" stretcher bars. It has been stamped on the back by the artist’s custom aspen leaf stamp.  

This painting is unframed, but hanging hardware is attached and the edges are natural wood. You can hang it as is, or add a frame that suits your decor.  These paintings will ship with a care card, and can be cleaned and dusted gently with a damp cloth.
