About the Repurpose Series

This series was made to celebrate Earth Day, repurposing the accumulated paint drips from a year in the studio.

The Repurpose mosaics are created with the leftover drips of paint and resin from Kathryn’s artwork, and sealed in resin. Each one is unique, and uses up materials that would otherwise be wasted.

Because these pieces are decorated with recycled materials, the resin finish is not as smooth as her other work, and may have bubbles, indentations and bumps. Each piece is functional, unique and has an interesting story.

About This Piece

The acacia tray measures 15" round by 2" high. It has been stamped on the back with the artist's custom wood burning brand. It has been decorated with strips of Kathryn’s old paint covered aprons, cut into smaller pieces and tiled into designs, then sealed in resin. Each one is unique, and uses up materials that would otherwise be wasted.

Cleaning instructions: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. The flat resin box top can be cleaned with glass cleaner or soap and water. Read more about resin care here. Condition the wood by wiping with mineral oil and a soft cloth. Do not immerse in water.
