Kathryn’s signature style, Fluid Landscapes, was inspired by reading PCR data in a genetics lab while missing the forests of northern Canada.
About this box
These fir wood boxes are Kathryn’s first fully handmade boxes, which she made at her shop in BC from Canadian fir and resin. The resin and inner wood finish are food safe and made in Canada, and the wood has a beautiful striped grain. The wood is finished with food safe natural hardwax oils in a dark finish.
The inset lid is finished with food safe resin. The edges are sized slightly larger than the box so it is easy to lift out. The lid has a fitted but not fully airtight fit. It has been stamped on the back with the artist's custom wood burning brand.
This listing is for the box plus a lid, pictured. You may also want to purchase an extra lid so you can mix and match designs.
Box Sizes and Care
There are three sizes of fir wood boxes; small, medium and large. This is the Medium size - please see photos for comparisons and examples of what they can hold.
This Medium square box measures approximately 4.5” square, and 3.5” high on the outside dimensions, and would be suitable to hold salt, sugar packets, candy, jewelry or small vanity items.
Cleaning instructions: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Box lids with a resin surface can be cleaned with glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. For boxes with a non-resin finish, use mild soap and water only.
