About the Repurpose Series

This series was made to celebrate Earth Day, repurposing the accumulated paint drips from a year in the studio.

The Repurpose mosaics are created with the leftover drips of paint and resin from Kathryn’s artwork, and sealed in resin. Each one is unique, and uses up materials that would otherwise be wasted.

Because these pieces are decorated with recycled materials, the resin finish is not as smooth as her other work, and may have bubbles, indentations and bumps. This one has a textured resin finish that shows the paint layers.

About This Piece

This is a one of a kind acacia box with a hinged lid embellished with acrylic, metal leaf and resin. It has been stamped on the back with the artist's custom wood burning brand.

This acacia box measures 12 1/2" x 4 1/8" x 3 7/8" and has four compartments inside, which can hold tea bags, vanity items, keepsakes or jewelry.

The painted surface has been finished with durable food safe resin, and is hard and shiny like glass.

Cleaning instructions: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. The flat resin surface can be cleaned with glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. Read more about resin care here. This is a one of a kind handmade art piece and there may be small bubbles, cosmetic indentations or unevenness in the resin.
